Three Simple Pieces That Instantly Refreshed My Kitchen Island
One of the questions I hear most often in the store is, “How do I decorate my kitchen island without making it feel cluttered?”
The truth is, you don’t need a lot of décor. Sometimes just a few well-chosen pieces can completely change the feel of your kitchen.
This week I decided to freshen up my own island, and I used just three Artisan Home favorites.
The first piece is our Creamy White Petal Bowl. I filled it with fresh pears because I love mixing something natural with home décor. Fruit adds color, texture, and makes your kitchen feel lived in. Plus, it’s practical!
Next, I added our Home Sweet Home Porcelain Butter Dish. Even if you don’t keep butter on the counter, it makes such a charming decorative accent. I love finding ways to display everyday items that are both beautiful and useful.
To bring in a little softness and height, I arranged two of our 17” Dahlia Bushes in one of my favorite blue and white vases. Using two bushes gives the arrangement a fuller look, and the creamy blooms pair perfectly with the fresh green pears and classic blue-and-white pottery.
When decorating your own kitchen island, I like to follow a simple formula:
• Add something with height (flowers or greenery)
• Include something functional (like a bowl or butter dish)
• Bring in a natural element (fresh fruit always works beautifully)
That’s it! Your island will feel welcoming without looking overcrowded.
