One Beautiful Bowl, Four Cozy Fall Looks

One of my favorite things about decorating is finding a piece that can be used again and again in completely different ways. During our recent Facebook LIVE, I started with one beautiful seagrass bowl trimmed with wooden beads and created several fall looks—each with its own personality.
The bowl added wonderful warmth and texture to every arrangement, while its generous size gave me plenty of room to layer florals, candles, pumpkins, woodland animals and other seasonal favorites.

A Whimsical Woodland Look
For the first arrangement, I surrounded a sweet woodland squirrel with branches of tiny pumpkins, colorful fall leaves and oversized acorns. An orange timer candle added height and a cozy glow.
This playful arrangement would be adorable on a kitchen island, dining table or entryway console. It feels festive and fun without being overly themed.

Fall in Soft Greens and Neutrals
The next look had an entirely different feeling. Soft green pumpkins, creamy neutrals, textured fall florals and glowing green timer candles created a calm, collected look.
A white turkey added a touch of Thanksgiving charm, while the soft colors made the arrangement easy to enjoy throughout the entire fall season. This is a lovely option if you prefer fall decorating that blends gently with your everyday home decor.

A Rich and Traditional Fall Arrangement
For a richer look, I filled the bowl with warm rust and burgundy foliage, then layered in beautiful metallic birds, an amber glass pumpkin and tall taper candles.
The tall feathers drew the eye upward and gave the arrangement a little drama, while the warm gold tones made everything feel especially inviting. This look would make a gorgeous centerpiece for a fall dinner or Thanksgiving gathering.

A Cheerful Harvest Look
The final arrangement featured a colorful duck nestled among golden leaves, soft fall stems and a glowing pinecone candle. I also used a coordinating vase filled with the same florals to carry the color and texture upward.
This cheerful look has that gathered-from-the-countryside feeling that makes a home feel warm, relaxed and ready for fall.
Start With One Versatile Piece
The biggest takeaway from this LIVE was that you don’t have to start over every time you want a new look. Begin with one versatile container, then change the florals, candles and decorative accents to suit your style or the occasion.
A few simple decorating tips:
Use pieces of different heights to keep the eye moving.
Choose one larger item as your focal point.
Layer greenery or florals around the edges to soften the arrangement.
Repeat colors and textures so everything feels connected.
Add a timer candle for a warm glow without any fuss.
Don’t be afraid to use pieces you already own in a fresh way.
The most important thing is to have fun and create something that feels like home to you. There truly isn’t just one “right” way to decorate!
